New Electronic Registration
Electronic Registration is designed to make the
registration process easier by eliminating the need of hand written
applications. This is accomplished by supplying a file in a predetermined
format. That file can be sent to CLRC on diskette, or by e-mail.
What you need for Electronic Registration
- a PC
- an on-farm software package which can perform Electronic Registration using the New ERA file format.
- an approved Electronic Registration Agreement.

Electronic Registration Agreement
Please click here to display the Electronic
Registration Agreement (PDF File). When it is displayed on your screen, it
can be printed on your own printer. Please complete the agreement and mail
it to your Breed Association office. When it is approved, you will receive
confirmation. At that point, you may use Electronic Registration
without the need of written applications. The agreement is in effect for
an indefinite period of time and does not need to be completed again. This
is the same agreement used for Telephone Registration and when approved,
you will be allowed to use both services, if available for your breed.
On-farm Software without Electronic Registration feature
In this case, it is suggested that you contact your software vendor. If
there is interest in this feature, the software developer may be willing
to add it to the program. The New ERA file format, the standard for
electronic registration in Canada, can be displayed by clicking below.
This is a technical document intended for use by on-farm software developers.
